Dr Pete Yelding

This concert was the culmination of 4 years of research. It was an opportunity to share my progress in studying the performance style and repertoire of the Lucknow Shahjahanpur Gharana on cello. The first half, I performed Raga Puriya Dhanashri on sitar: Alap, Jod, Jhalla, Vilambit Gat, Drut Gat. The second half, I performed Raga Jaijawanti on cello: Alap, Jod, Jhalla, Vilambit Gat, Drut Gat. In both halves I was incredibly fortunate to be accompanied by the highly sought after, and internationally acclaimed tabla player, Ustad Shahbaz Hussain.
