In the summer of 2020 I was approached by poet, Shagufta Iqbal, to collaborate, providing music for her poetry as part of Cape Farewell’s Sirens project, responding to both the pandemic and the climate emergency.
The success of the initial presentations of work by all the poets involved led to two days residency at the Wardrobe Theatre, Bristol, in 2021. A full collaborative performance was devised, featuring the poets Chris White, Liv Torc, Peter Bearder and Shagufta K Iqbal, accompanied by musicians Hal Kelly and myself, assisted by Stage Manager and outside eye, Alicia White and Projects Manager, Steffy Clements. This was show was later presented at Poole’s Lighthouse.
