Dr Pete Yelding

During the later stages of the pandemic, I was missing my friends in Kolkata and feeling disconnected from the rest of the world on this Island. I wrote the song, New Seeds to communicate this, scored for drum machine, synth, cello, gourd cello, sitar and voice. It was partly inspired by the Rajasthani Langa performing tradition, which I encountered and resonated with during my first trip to India in 2020, as they too are hereditary performers.
