Performed at The Place, as part of Resolutions Festival 2016. I scored and performed the music for this collaboration between dancers Joel O’Donoghue, PJ Hurst and theatre company Inky Cloak. The piece was influenced by Seaford beach, and the juxtaposition between powerful, often rugged coastal landscapes and the jubilant nostalgia of seaside resorts.
The score was for electric cello, voice, live looping, Midi organs, walkie talkies, and standing fans with contact microphones attached. As well as the fans creating a drone for the piece, I also intended for them to have a visual presence as a chorus of backing dancers, accompanying the choreography.
